What they wanted
A consortium of language schools in the South West decided to create a website to advertise the South West to attract students to the numerous schools in the area.
Our way forward
The Spoton team outlined some main issues that would need to be resolved, relating to advertising where in England the language schools are geographically based and proximity to transport links.
Each school needed to be advertised equally and it was suggested that the viewer choose their course first and then be given choice of the school offering the course.
Each school needed the flexibility to adapt and change their prospectus and imagery and the content management system enabled each of the schools to insert and adapt their details.
The outcome
The website contains beautiful West Country images, with testimonials from students, and a number of flash maps, outlining where the west country is in relation to the rest of the UK. The maps also contain hot spots, which show the county outlines and towns. The location maps remain in the same area throughout the websites pages again to highlight the West Country as a valuable learning destination.
Included within the project design, was a downloadable brochure, which was also printed on a high quality 180gsm gloss art paper, to be sent out to prospective students.
The site has received rave reviews from all who visit and the testimonial received makes it worth while.

"English UK South West formed in May 2009 and is a voluntary affiliation of language centres. All centres are accredited by the British Council, members of English UK and located in this geographic area. Objectives of English UK South West include: raising and enhancing the profile of this region to anyone with an interest in the language travel business, and; organizing marketing and sales initiatives to maintain and grow business for member schools. A professional and attractive website was considered by members to be an essential part of this.
I was charged with organising the website and commissioned Spot On for various reasons including a recommendation, cost, quality and convenient location. The original concept for the structure of the site was taken from another regional group of English UK and I was really impressed with how the team at Spot On developed this concept and created an original and effective site for us. I was aware going into this project that the picture I had in my head of how the website should appear could vary wildly from what came out at the end and so I generated lists of ideas and things that I would like to see included. I found the design team was very responsive and worked really well for me and also felt that I could trust their judgement (when following all of my suggestions would have led to a confused and less attractive site).
Overall, I am very happy with all aspects of the work I have done with Spot On and can wholeheartedly recommend them."
